HALO SLEW was one of a group of nine horses and one donkey rescued by Whispering Hearts from a farm in Brockville in April 2015. Halo arrived at the farm underweight, sick and one side of her face paralyzed. She had gone blind in her left eye, because her paralysis prevents her from blinking.

Shortly thereafter it was discovered that Halo’s grandfather was Seattle Slew, a Triple Crown winner and widely considered to be one of the top ten thoroughbred race horses ever. Fate was not so kind to Halo and her life as a brood mare took her down a rough path with questionable owners. When Halo’s last owner could no longer care for her, her journey to WHHR was a positive stepping stone to a life where she will receive an abundance of love and the best of care.
