Special Fund Raising Event Guidelines and Standards

Whispering Hearts often gets requests from individuals and groups wanting to raise funds to support the horses. We welcome such special projects, as long as we know about and approve them beforehand. If you or your group is interested in organizing a Special Fund Raising Event or activity, please complete the Special Fund Raising Event Application and review the Guidelines and Standards below before you start.

These simple guidelines outline what types of projects are not allowed, due to either WHHR's internal policies or in accordance with Federal, Provincial or Municipal laws. All Special Fund Raisers must comply with the Guidelines and Standards.

Thank you so much Melanie & everyone else organizing this event!Process:

  • Step 1 - Decide
The first step in coordinating a fun and creative Special Fund Raising Event is to decide which type project or event would work best for you and/or your group. This should be decided based on your available resources and the goal you set for your Special Fund Raising Event.

  • Step 2 - Apply
The second step is to fill out and return the Special Fund Raising Event Application. The application will be reviewed and must be approved by WHHR before you start your Special Fund Raising Event. Signing the Special Fund Raising Event Application also indicates that you have read and will comply with the Special Fund Raising Event Guidelines and Standards. You can complete the form online and submit it directly or print it out and return it by mail to:

    Whispering Hearts Horse Rescue
    Special Fund Raising Events
    1652 Concession 10, RR #5
    Hagersville, ON N0A 1H0

  • Step 3 - Details
Once your application has been approved, you may finalize the details of your project. Whether it is a coin collection at school, a casual day at work, or a bake sale at church, now is the time to get all of the details in order to ensure that your Special Fund Raising Event runs smoothly.

  • Step 4 - Publicize
After you have all of the details arranged, you can begin informing people about your Special Fund Raising Event. There are several ways you can share this with people in your community, including informing local newspapers and television stations. WHHR has brochures available for use, or you can design a flyer for your Special Fund Raising Event to pass out to prospective participants. Anything designed/written for publication must be approved by WHHR before use.

  • Step 5 - Special Fund Raising Event
At this point, you coordinate the event you have planned. This is when your hard work and planning pay off as you carry out your Special Fund Raising Event and work toward achieving the goals of your project.

  • Step 6 - Funds
After your Special Fund Raising Event is completed, please send the funds raised in to WHHR. To ensure that your project gets full credit for every donation, be sure to include your event name on each check you send in.

  • Step 7 - Follow Up
Inform everyone who participated of the final outcome. Congratulate everyone involved on their hard work and generosity in helping abused and neglected equines receive a second chance at a good life.
